I did it!

I did it! I did it!
I ate an entire portion of tuna steak!

In my quest to eat new (and healthy) foods, I've been working on acquiring the tastes of different foods. I'm so sick of the same meals. We even had Boca burgers for lunch, just to change things up.

It took me a while, but I finally started liking shrimp. I still hadn't started liking fish...until tonight. In the past, I've offered to buy fish for Corey to make hoping I'd eventually acquire the taste. Usually I'd eat about half of it and then push my plate away. Mostly it's a texture thing, I catch myself wishing I were eating a steak or chicken.

Well today is a new day folks! Corey made tuna steak, seared on the outside but medium-rare on the inside. It was delicious! I ate the entire thing. Maybe it's a small thing, but I'm very proud of myself and happy to expand my repertoire.

Next up sushi. Stay tuned....

Mo eats tuna! Nope, I just don't know if I can get used to that thought. It goes against everything I know about Mo.

Hm, does it mean anything that the spam filter below contains "cod" in it?

I'm relatively new to fish, too. And don't like it fishy. Ew. Here are two more to try: Sword fish and halibut. Much more steaky than fishy. Salmon is slightly more fishing, but awesome.

I'm going to be house-sitting/dog sitting in Chicago the weekend of March 22 - when Jeff A and I are coming up to play CSz with you.

We should get together!...and I'll watch you both eat tuna while I eat something good.

With taste.

(that's not a slam on Corey's culinary skills, but rather a jab at that ego-centric fish, tuna.)
